Right Turn understands that substance abuse disorders are as complex as the families and family members they affect. To address these issues, Right Turn’s family specialist offers an array of services designed to educate family members about addiction and mental health.
Bi-Weekly Family Support Group
Right Turn Family Support Group meets every other Monday from 7:00PM – 8:30 PM. The Family Support Group is facilitated by Right Turn’s eminently skilled therapeutic professionals. This group is for family members seeking professional advice along with peer-to-peer support. It addresses coping skills and strategies for families dealing with a loved one in need of treatment, currently in treatment, or post treatment. This group is open to the public with a $5 suggested donation.
Monthly Family Workshop
Facilitated by Jon Cohan, CADC ( Jon Cohan Counseling) , and Gabrielle Dean, MSW,MPH, with added curriculum by Family Specialis Diana Clark, JD,MA,,this three hour workshop is designed to educate and guide attendees through the many challenges faced whe a loved one is immersed in the complex world of addiction.Participants learn about addiction’s effect on the brain, how to shatter denial, alter co-dependent and protecting behaviors, and develop health boundaries. Througsthesuse of engaging multi-media presentation, lecture, workbooks, and group exercises, attendees gainthe information they need to begin claiming their own recovery. Bi-Weekly Couples Support Group
Looking for a support group that helps you learn how to take care of yourself while in a relationship with a partner that is currently using,or in recovery from an addiction (drugs, alcohol, gambling, sex, food, etc.)
